حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْيَشْكُرِيِّ عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَتْ أ
ُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ اللَّهُمَّ مَتِّعْنِي بِزَوْجِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِأَبِي أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَبِأَخِي مُعَاوِيَةَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّكِ سَأَلْتِ اللَّهَ لِآجَالٍ مَضْرُوبَةٍ وَأَرْزَاقٍ مَقْسُومَةٍ وَآثَارٍ مَبْلُوغَةٍ لَا يُعَجَّلُ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ قَبْلَ حِلِّهِ وَلَا يُؤَخَّرُ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ بَعْدَ حِلِّهِ وَلَوْ سَأَلْتِ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُعَافِيَكِ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَكِ

English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, al-Thawri narrated to us, from 'Alqamah ibn Marthad, from al-Mughirah ibn 'Abdullah al-Yashkuri, from al-Ma'rur ibn Suwayd, from 'Abdullah who said: Umm Habibah (the wife of the Prophet ﷺ) said: 'O Allah, grant me enjoyment through my husband, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and through my father Abu Sufyan, and through my brother Mu'awiyah.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'You have asked Allah about lifespans that have been fixed, provisions that have been apportioned, and days that have been numbered. Allah will not hasten anything before its time nor delay anything beyond its time. Had you asked Allah to protect you from punishment in the Fire and from punishment in the grave, it would have been better for you.'
