English Translation
Isma'il narrated to us, Ayyub narrated to us, from Nafi' who said: Ibn 'Umar said: 'I saw in a dream as if I had a piece of silk brocade (istabraq) in my hand, and I did not point to any place in Paradise except that it flew me there. Two angels came to me and wanted to take me toward the Fire. Another angel met them and said: You have nothing to fear — let him go. Hafsah (his sister, the Prophet ﷺ's wife) related this vision to the Prophet ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What an excellent man 'Abdullah is, if only he would pray at night. After that, 'Abdullah would only sleep a small portion of the night.'
