English Translation

'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, that the Prophet ﷺ heard 'Umar saying: 'By my father!' (swearing by his father). the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, Allah forbids you from swearing by your fathers. Whoever wants to swear, let him swear by Allah or remain silent.'
