‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏مَالِكٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏نَافِعٍ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏ابْنِ عُمَرَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرَةِ حَتَّى ‏ ‏يَبْدُوَ ‏ ‏صَلَاحُهَا نَهَى الْبَائِعَ وَالْمُشْتَرِيَ وَنَهَى أَنْ يُسَافَرَ بِالْقُرْآنِ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَنَالَهُ الْعَدُوُّ ‏

English Translation

'Abd al-Rahman — meaning Ibn Mahdi — narrated to us, Malik narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the sale of fruit until its quality becomes apparent (i.e., it begins to ripen). He forbade both the seller and the buyer.
