English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki' and Abu Mu'awiya, from al-A'mash, from Abi Wa'il — that 'Abdullah said: 'It is as if I am looking at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reenacting [the story of] a prophet from among the Prophet ﷺs whose people struck him — he was wiping the blood away.' Abu Mu'awiya [adds]: 'Wiping the blood from his forehead, and saying: O Lord, forgive my people, for they do not know.'
