حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْهِلَالِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَوَلَدَتْ امْرَأَتُهُ فَاحْتُبِسَ لَبَنُهَا فَجَعَلَ يَم
ُصُّهُ وَيَمُجُّهُ فَدَخَلَ حَلْقَهُ فَأَتَى أَبَا مُوسَى فَقَالَ حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكَ قَالَ فَأَتَى ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يُحَرِّمُ مِنْ الرَّضَاعِ إِلَّا مَا أَنْبَتَ اللَّحْمَ وَأَنْشَزَ الْعَظْمَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki', from Sulayman ibn al-Mughira, from Abi Musa al-Hilali, from his father — that a man was on a journey when his wife gave birth and her milk became retained. He began sucking it and spitting it out, but some of it went down his throat. He went to Abu Musa [al-Ash'ari], who said: 'She is forbidden to you [as a wife].' He then went to Ibn Mas'ud and asked him. He [Ibn Mas'ud] said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Only that suckling which grows the flesh and strengthens the bones [establishes a fosterage prohibition].'
