English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki', from Sufyan, from Abi Ishaq, from Abi 'Ubayda — that ['Abdullah] said in the khutbat al-haja [the sermon of need]: 'Indeed all praise is for Allah; we seek His help and His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls. Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide; and whoever He misguides, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.' Then he recited three verses from the Book of Allah: 'Fear Allah as He deserves to be feared, and do not die except as Muslims' [3:102]; 'Fear Allah, through Whom you ask of one another, and [be mindful of] kinship ties; indeed Allah is ever Watchful over you' [4:1]; 'Fear Allah and speak a straight word...' [33:70] to the end of the verse. — [Second chain] via Waki', from Isra'il, from Abi Ishaq, from Abi al-Ahwas and Abi 'Ubayda, from 'Abdullah — he said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the khutbat al-haja — and he mentioned something similar to this hadith, except that he did not say 'inna' [verily].
