حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ هُوَ النَّاج

ِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا وَضَعْتُمْ مَوْتَاكُمْ فِي الْقَبْرِ فَقُولُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yazid, from Hammam ibn Yahya, from Qatada, from Abu al-Siddiq al-Naji — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said: 'When you place your dead in the grave, say: "Bismillah wa 'ala millat Rasul Allah [In the name of Allah and upon the way of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ]."'
