English Translation
It was narrated — via Yazid, from Yahya (meaning Ibn Sa'id), from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban — a man reported from his father Yahya that he was with 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما), and 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said to him during the [time of] civil strife [al-fitna]: 'Do you not regard killing as something serious?' And [he mentioned that] the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said at [the well of] al-Thamad: 'Two people must not speak privately to the exclusion of their companion.'
