حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي أَخْبَ

رَنِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا طَلَعَ حَاجِبُ الشَّمْسِ فَأَخِّرُوا الصَّلَاةَ حَتَّى تَبْرُزَ فَإِذَا غَابَ حَاجِبُ الشَّمْسِ فَأَخِّرُوا الصَّلَاةَ حَتَّى تَغِيبَ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Hisham ibn 'Urwa, from his father — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said: 'When the rim of the sun appears [at sunrise], delay the prayer until it has fully risen. And when the rim of the sun disappears [at sunset], delay the prayer until it has fully set.'
