حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا اسْتَفْتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ الرُّكُوعِ وَلَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abd al-Rahman, from Malik, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands when opening the prayer, when he was about to bow, and when he raised his head from bowing — but he would not do that during prostration.
