Hadith #182
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَرَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالنَّاسُ حَوْلَهُ فَأَسْرَعْتُ لِأَسْمَعَ كَلَامَهُ فَتَفَرَّقَ النَّاس
ُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَبْلُغَ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً قَبْلَ أَنْ أَنْتَهِيَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسَأَلْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ مَاذَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ نَهَى عَنْ الْمُزَفَّتِ وَالدُّبَّاءِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yazid, from Yahya, from Nafi' — that he said: 'I entered the mosque and saw the Prophet ﷺ with people around him. I hurried to hear his words — but the people dispersed before I reached them [on another occasion he said: before I got there]. I asked one of them: "What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say?" He said: "He forbade [nabidh in] al-muzaffat [pitch-lined vessels] and al-dubba' [dried gourd vessels]."'
