English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya ibn Adam, from Isra'il, from Simak, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr — that he said: 'I used to sell camels at al-Baqi'. I would sell for dinars and receive dirhams in return, and sell for dirhams and receive dinars. I went to the Prophet ﷺ when he was about to enter his room, and I caught hold of his garment and asked him. He said: "When you take one of the two [gold or silver] in exchange for the other — do not part [from the transaction] while there is still an outstanding sale between you and him."'
