حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى

عَنْهُمَا رَفَعَ الْحَدِيثَ فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى { يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ } قَالَ يَقُومُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي الرَّشْحِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ آذَانِهِمْ

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Husayn ibn Muhammad, from Hammad ibn Zayd, from Ayyub, from Nafi' — traced back [to the Prophet ﷺ] — regarding Allah's (تعالى) statement: 'The day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds' [83:6] — he said: 'On the Day of Resurrection they will stand in sweat reaching up to half their ears.'
