English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via two chains [one through Anas ibn Malik, one directly] — from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'When a Muslim reaches forty years, Allah protects him from [various] afflictions: madness, leprosy, and elephantiasis. When he reaches fifty, Allah (عز وجل) eases his reckoning. When he reaches sixty, Allah grants him repentance [inaba] for which He loves him. When he reaches seventy, Allah loves him and the inhabitants of heaven love him. When he reaches eighty, Allah accepts his good deeds and erases his evil deeds. When he reaches ninety, Allah forgives his past and future sins, he is called Allah's captive on earth, and his intercession is accepted for his household.'
