حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِ
ي ابْنَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو صَخْرٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ كَانَ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ صَدِيقٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّأْمِ يُكَاتِبُهُ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ مَرَّةً عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ إِنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تَكَلَّمْتَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ الْقَدَرِ فَإِيَّاكَ أَنْ تَكْتُبَ إِلَيَّ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ سَيَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي أَقْوَامٌ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِالْقَدَرِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu 'Abd al-Rahman 'Abdullah ibn Yazid, from Sa'id ibn Abi Ayyub, from Abu Sakhr, from Nafi' — that he said: 'Ibn 'Umar had a friend from the people of Syria with whom he corresponded. He once wrote to him: "It has reached me that you have been speaking about [the matter of] divine decree [al-qadar] — beware of writing to me [about such things], for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: \"There will be in my ummah peoples who deny divine decree.\""'
