English Translation
Yahya ibn Hammad narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from Abu Bishr, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Prophet ﷺ had a ring of gold, and he used to turn its stone inward [toward his palm]. Then the people took to wearing gold rings. So the Prophet ﷺ threw it away and said: 'I will never wear it.' Then he had a ring of silver made, and the people also made silver rings. When the Prophet ﷺ died, that ring was with Abu Bakr, then with 'Umar, then with 'Uthman, until it fell into the well of Aris.
