‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وُهَيْبٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏ابْنِ عُمَرَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏نَهَى عَنْ ‏ ‏الْجَرِّ ‏ ‏وَالدُّبَّاءِ ‏

English Translation

'Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Tawus narrated to us, from his father, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited al-jarr [earthen jars], al-dubba' [gourds], and al-muzaffat [pitch-coated vessels] — meaning as containers for making nabidh [date drink].
