English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Husayn ibn Muhammad, from Khalaf ibn Khalifa, from Abu Janab, from his father — that he said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not sell a dinar for two dinars, nor a dirham for two dirhams, nor a sa' for two sa's — for I fear for you al-rama' [riba by excess]. And al-rama' is riba." A man stood and asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about selling a horse for [multiple] horses, or a thoroughbred she-camel for camels?" He said: "There is no objection if it is hand-to-hand [immediate exchange]."'
