حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْهَاد

ِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ أَبَرُّ الْبِرِّ صِلَةُ الْمَرْءِ أَهْلَ وُدِّ أَبِيهِ بَعْدَ إِذْ يُوَلِّي

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Ishaq ibn 'Isa, from al-Layth, from Yazid ibn 'Abdullah ibn al-Had, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar — that he said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The most righteous act of piety is a man's maintaining ties with the loved ones of his father after [the father] has passed away."'
