حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ دِينَارٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ

أَسْلَمَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ نَزَعَ يَدًا مِنْ طَاعَةٍ فَلَا حُجَّةَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ مَاتَ مُفَارِقًا لِلْجَمَاعَةِ فَقَدْ مَاتَ مِيتَةً جَاهِلِيَّةً

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hasan, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Zayd ibn Aslam — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said: 'Whoever withdraws his hand from obedience [to the ruler] will have no argument on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever dies having separated from the jama'a [the Muslim community] has died a death of jahiliyya.'
