English Translation

It was narrated — via Hasan ibn Musa, from Zuhayr, from 'Umara ibn Ghaziyya, from Yahya ibn Rashid — that he said: 'Ten of us set out as pilgrims from the people of Syria until we came to Mecca.' [He mentioned the account.] 'We went to him — meaning Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — and he came out to us and said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever interposes his intercession to prevent [the application of] one of Allah's (عز وجل) prescribed punishments has opposed Allah in His command. And whoever dies while in debt — it will not be [settled] in dinars or dirhams but rather in good and bad deeds. And whoever disputes in a case of falsehood while knowing it — he remains in Allah's anger until he desists. And whoever says about a believer what is not in him — Allah will make him dwell in radghat al-khabal [the pus of Hell-dwellers] until he retracts what he said.'"'
