English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yunus, from Hammad ibn Salama, from Ayyub, from Nafi' — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you takes an oath and says "if Allah wills" [in sha' Allah], he has the option: if he wishes he may do it, and if he wishes he may not do it.'
