English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yunus, from Hammad ibn Zayd, from Ayyub, from Nafi' — raising it to the Prophet ﷺ: 'A man must not conduct a transaction over the transaction of his brother, and must not make a marriage proposal [except with his permission — or: except that he give him permission].'
