Hadith #18
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا مَاتَ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ مَقْعَدُهُ بِالْغَد
َاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَمِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَيُقَالُ هَذَا مَقْعَدُكَ حَتَّى يَبْعَثَكَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Ishaq, from Malik, from Nafi' — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you dies, his place [in the Hereafter] is shown to him morning and evening. If he is among the people of Paradise, [he sees a place] among the people of Paradise; if he is among the people of Hellfire, [he sees a place] among the people of Hellfire. It is said to him: "This is your place — until Allah resurrects you to it on the Day of Resurrection."'
