English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Ya'qub and Sa'd, from their father, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Nafi', freed slave of 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar — that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid a man from making a marriage proposal over the proposal of his brother, or from conducting a transaction over his [brother's] transaction.'
