حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَبِيعُ الْإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَأَقْبِضُ الْوَرِقَ مِنْ الدَّنَانِيرِ وَالدَّنَانِيرَ مِنْ الْوَرِقِ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي بَيْتِ حَفْصَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رُوَيْدَكَ أَسْأَلُكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَبِيعُ الْإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَأَقْبِضُ هَذِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ وَهَذِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَهَا بِسِعْرِ يَوْمِهَا مَا لَمْ تَفْتَرِقَا وَبَيْنَكُمَا شَيْءٌ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Bahz and Abu Kamil, from Hammad ibn Salama, from Simak ibn Harb, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr — that he said: 'I used to sell camels at al-Baqi' and would take silver dirhams [wariq] for gold dinars and dinars for dirhams. I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in the house of Hafsa and said: "O Messenger of Allah, a moment — I want to ask you: I sell camels at al-Baqi' and take one currency for another." He said: "There is no harm if you take it at the exchange rate of the day, as long as you do not separate while there is something still outstanding between you."'
