English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hushaym, from Abu Bishr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr — that he said: 'I went out with Ibn 'Umar from his house and we passed by young men from Quraysh who had set up a bird and were shooting arrows at it — they had agreed that every missed arrow would go to the owner of the bird. When they saw Ibn 'Umar they scattered. Ibn 'Umar said: "Who did this? May Allah curse whoever did this! the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'May Allah curse whoever takes a living creature as a target.'"\'
