حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا فِي بَيْتِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يُحَدِّثُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِع
َ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ سَمَّعَ النَّاسَ بِعَمَلِهِ سَمَّعَ اللَّهُ بِهِ سَامِعَ خَلْقِهِ وَصَغَّرَهُ وَحَقَّرَهُ قَالَ فَذَرَفَتْ عَيْنَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Shu'ba, from 'Amr ibn Murra, who heard a man in the house of Abu 'Ubayda — that he heard 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr narrating to Ibn 'Umar that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever makes a show of his deeds to be heard [by people] — Allah will expose him [on the Day of Resurrection] and [make manifest] what he showed off.'
