حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَبَّ
رَ فِي عِيدٍ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ تَكْبِيرَةً سَبْعًا فِي الْأُولَى وَخَمْسًا فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَهَا وَلَا بَعْدَهَا قَالَ أَبِي وَأَنَا أَذْهَبُ إِلَى هَذَا

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Waki', from 'Abdullah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, who heard it from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Prophet ﷺ pronounced twelve takbeers in the Eid prayer: seven in the first rak'ah and five in the second. He did not pray [any voluntary prayer] before it or after it. [The narrator's] father said: 'This is the position I hold.'
