حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَوَّارُ بْنُ دَاوُدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرُوا صِبْيَانَكُمْ بِالصَّلَ
اةِ إِذَا بَلَغُوا سَبْعًا وَاضْرِبُوهُمْ عَلَيْهَا إِذَا بَلَغُوا عَشْرًا وَفَرِّقُوا بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ قَالَ أَبِي وَقَالَ الطُّفَاوِيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ سَوَّارٌ أَبُو حَمْزَةَ وَأَخْطَأَ فِيهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Waki', from Sawwar ibn Dawud, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Command your children to pray when they reach seven, and discipline them for it when they reach ten. And separate them in their sleeping places.' [The narrator's] father said: 'And al-Tufawi Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman mentioned in this hadith that [the narrator's name was] Sawwar Abu Hamza — but he erred in that.'
