English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu al-Nadr, from Muhammad ibn Rashid, from Sulayman ibn Musa — that 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr wrote to his estate manager: 'Do not withhold your surplus water — for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever withholds surplus water in order thereby to prevent [others' animals from accessing] surplus pasture — Allah will withhold His favor from him on the Day of Resurrection."'
