حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَبِي ثُمَامَةَ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِي قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تُوضَعُ الرَّحِ
مُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَهَا حُجْنَةٌ كَحُجْنَةِ الْمِغْزَلِ تَكَلَّمُ بِلِسَانٍ طَلْقٍ ذَلْقٍ فَتَصِلُ مَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَتَقْطَعُ مَنْ قَطَعَهَا وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ الْمِغْزَلُ وَقَالَ بِأَلْسِنَةٍ لَهَا

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Bahz and 'Affan, from Hammad ibn Salama, from Qatada, from Abu Thumama al-Thaqafi — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The [ties of] kinship [al-rahim] will be presented on the Day of Resurrection with a hooked clasp like the clasp of a spindle, speaking with a fluent and eloquent tongue. It will connect [intercede for] whoever kept it connected, and cut off [from mercy] whoever severed it.' 'Affan said in his version: 'the spindle' and 'with tongues.'
