حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ صُمْ يَوْمًا وَلَكَ عَشَ
رَةُ أَيَّامٍ قَالَ زِدْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ بِي قُوَّةً قَالَ صُمْ يَوْمَيْنِ وَلَكَ تِسْعَةُ أَيَّامٍ قَالَ زِدْنِي فَإِنِّي أَجِدُ قُوَّةً قَالَ صُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَكَ ثَمَانِيَةُ أَيَّامٍ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Rawh, from Hammad, from Thabit, from Shu'ayb ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Fast one day and you will have [the reward of] ten days.' He said: 'Give me more, O Messenger of Allah — I have the strength.' He said: 'Fast two days and you will have [the reward of] nine days.' He said: 'Give me more — I find I have strength.' He said: 'Fast three days and you will have [the reward of] eight days.'
