حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي مَالًا وَوَالِدًا وَإِنَّ وَالِدِي يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَجْت
َاحَ مَالِي قَالَ أَنْتَ وَمَالُكَ لِوَالِدِكَ إِنَّ أَوْلَادَكُمْ مِنْ أَطْيَبِ كَسْبِكُمْ فَكُلُوا مِنْ كَسْبِ أَوْلَادِكُمْ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ حَبِيبًا الْمُعَلِّمَ يُقَالُ لَهُ حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي بَقِيَّةَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Affan, from Yazid ibn Zuray', from Habib al-Mu'allim, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that a Bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'I have wealth and a father, and my father wants to consume all my wealth.' He said: 'You and your wealth belong to your father. Indeed your children are from the best of your earnings — so eat from your children's earnings.' [Abu 'Abd al-Rahman ('Abdullah ibn Ahmad) said: 'It has reached me that Habib al-Mu'allim is also called Habib ibn Abi Baqiyya.']
