English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Qutayba, from Ibn Lahi'a, from Huyayy ibn 'Abdullah, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli — that the Prophet ﷺ passed by Sa'd while he was performing wudu and said: 'What is this extravagance, O Sa'd?' He said: 'Is there extravagance in wudu?' He said: 'Yes — even if you are on a flowing river.'
