It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu Sa'id, from Muhammad ibn Rashid, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled: 'The blood money ['aql] is an inheritance [to be distributed] among the heirs of the slain according to their [designated] shares.'
