English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu Sa'id, from Muhammad ibn Rashid, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled: 'For the nose — if completely amputated: the full blood money. If its tip [al-arnaba] is amputated: half the blood money. For the eye: half the blood money. For the hand: half the blood money. For the leg: half the blood money. He also ruled that a woman's male relatives ['asaba] bear the blood money on her behalf, regardless of who they are — but they do not inherit from her except what remains after her own heirs receive their shares. And if she is killed, her blood money goes to her heirs, and they are the ones who pursue her killer [in retaliation]. He ruled that the blood money of the People of the Book [ahl al-kitab] is half that of the Muslims — meaning the Jews and the Christians.'
