English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Hushaym ibn Bashir, from 'Abdullah ibn Abi Salih Dhakwan, from his father — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Your oath [binds you] according to what your companion [the one asking the oath of you] would believe from you [i.e., an oath is judged by the intent of the one who demands it, not by evasive phrasing].'
