Hadith #68

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو قَبِيلٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَعَاذَ مِنْ سَبْعِ مَوْتَاتٍ مَوْتِ الْفَجْأَةِ وَمِنْ لَدْغِ الْحَيَّةِ وَمِنْ السَّبُعِ وَمِنْ الْحَرَقِ وَمِنْ الْغَرَقِ وَمِنْ أَنْ يَخِرَّ عَلَى شَيْءٍ أَوْ يَخِرَّ عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ وَمِنْ الْقَتْلِ عِنْدَ فِرَارِ الزَّحْفِ
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hasan ibn Musa, from Ibn Lahi'a, from Abu Qabil, from Malik ibn 'Abdullah — from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: that he used to seek refuge [with Allah] from seven deaths: sudden death [mawt al-faj'a], a snake bite [ladgh al-hayya], being attacked by a wild beast [al-sabu'], drowning, burning, falling from a height, and being killed [by the sword of the enemy] at the very moment of [military] defeat.'
