حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حُيَيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ الل
َّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَا أَجِدُ قَلْبِي يَعْقِلُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ قَلْبَكَ حُشِيَ الْإِيمَانَ وَإِنَّ الْإِيمَانَ يُعْطَى الْعَبْدَ قَبْلَ الْقُرْآنِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hasan, from Ibn Lahi'a, from Huyayy ibn 'Abdullah, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli — that a man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I read the Quran but I find no softening [opening/khushu'] in my heart from it.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Your heart is alive — and the sign of a living heart is that one reads and does not tire, and continues without being bored. Persist in reading it.'
