English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via al-Walid, from al-Awza'i, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salama — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no prophet nor ruler except that he has two inner circles [bitanatani]: one that commands him to do what is right and proper, and one that spares no effort to corrupt him. And whoever is protected from the harm of the corrupt circle is [truly] protected — and he [the ruler] will follow whichever one gains the upper hand over him.'
