English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id — that a man from Banu Fazara came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'My wife has given birth to a black child.' He said: 'Do you have camels?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'What color are they?' He said: 'Red.' He said: 'Are there any gray-dun [awraq] among them?' He said: 'Yes, there are some gray ones.' He said: 'How did that come about?' He said: 'Perhaps a gene ['irq] drew it out.' He said: 'And this [child] — perhaps a gene drew it out.'
