English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id — traced to the Prophet ﷺ: 'Hasten with your funerals. If [the deceased] was righteous, you are bringing him forward toward good. And if he was otherwise, it is an evil you are removing from your necks.' [On another occasion Sufyan said, traced to the Prophet ﷺ:] 'Hasten with the funeral. If it was righteous, it is good you are bringing closer to it [the reward].'
