English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salama — that when al-Najashi [the Negus, King of Abyssinia] died, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed [the people] that he had died and said: '[Stand up and] seek forgiveness for him.' [He led them in the prayer for the absent deceased.]
