حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلّ

َمَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ فَإِنَّ فِيهَا شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ إِلَّا السَّامَ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ السَّامُ الْمَوْتُ وَهِيَ الشُّونِيزُ

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salama — [Sufyan said: if Allah wills, from] Abu Hurayra — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Use this black seed [al-habba al-sawda'] — for in it there is a cure for every disease except al-sam.' Sufyan said: 'Al-sam is death. And it is al-shuniz [black seed — Nigella sativa].'
