English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from al-'Ala', from his father — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man selling food and asked him: 'How do you sell?' The man told him. Then it was inspired to him [from Allah]: 'Put your hand into it.' He put his hand in and found the bottom was wet [the food had been adulterated with water]. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'He is not of us who deceives [man ghashsha].'
