حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْخَيْرِ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً فَإِذَا أَوْصَى حَافَ فِي وَ
صِيَّتِهِ فَيُخْتَمُ لَهُ بِشَرِّ عَمَلِهِ فَيَدْخُلُ النَّارَ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الشَّرِّ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً فَيَعْدِلُ فِي وَصِيَّتِهِ فَيُخْتَمُ لَهُ بِخَيْرِ عَمَلِهِ فَيَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَاقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ { تِلْكَ حُدُودُ اللَّهِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ }

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from Ash'ath ibn 'Abdillah, from Shahr ibn Hawshab — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A man may perform the deeds of the people of goodness for seventy years — then when he makes his bequest, he acts unjustly in it [violating Allah's limits]. So he is sealed with the worst of his deeds and enters the Fire. And a man may perform the deeds of the people of evil for seventy years — then he acts justly in his bequest. So he is sealed with the best of his deeds and enters Paradise.' Then Abu Hurayra would say: 'Read, if you wish: {These are the limits set by Allah...} up to His words: {a humiliating punishment} [4:13–14].'
