English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Ibn Abi 'Adiyy, from Humayd, from Bakr, from Abu Rafi' — that Abu Hurayra said: 'I encountered the Prophet ﷺ while I was in a state of major ritual impurity [janaba]. So I walked with him until he sat down, then I slipped away, went to my dwelling, bathed, and returned to find him still sitting. He said: "Where were you?" I said: "You found me while I was in a state of impurity, and I disliked sitting with you in that state — so I went and bathed." He said: "SubhanAllah — a believer does not become ritually impure [la yanjus]."'
