حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ
اللَّهِ الْقُمِّيِّ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ زِيَادُ بْنُ حُدَيْرٍ وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي فِي حَيِّزٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ مَعِي مَا يُصْلِحُنِي لَا أُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُونِي

English Translation
Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Ya'qub ibn Abdullah al-Qummi, from Hafs ibn Humayd who said: Ziyad ibn Hudayr said: 'I wish I were in an enclosure of iron with what sustains me, and I would not leave until I die — because I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What I fear most for you are the trials (fitan) that are like pieces of a dark night.'
